Course Details:
Module I consists of Basic Body Mechanics lasting 7 weeks where we will complete some of the initial movements of the Wu style. This form will strengthen the back, drop tension out of the upper body into the legs, co-ordinate upper and lower body movement, re-wire the nerves to work smoothly and train your mind to regard stress as an option. All in 7 weeks, as well as much more. I emphasise body mechanics initially so that the blood and hence the energy can move smoothly, but I also teach breathing, feeling the nerves, and meditation. The amount of information given is large, so progress is sedate to enable smooth hard wiring of the nerves.
We will cover about a quarter of the Wu Short Form. Jan will explain why this is good for westerners. He will also demonstrate the Middle Frame Yang Style which is the next Form that you learn. He has learned the Original Old Yang Middle Frame from one of the oldest sources in China, Tian Yin Jia of Shanghai, whose father Tian Zhao Lin lived with the original Yang family. Jans Chi Gung and combat master, Ma Ba Guo, is a Xing Yi and Chen Tai Chi Lineage holder.
